SHOULD THE PRESIDENT OF COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY HAVE BEEN TASERED LIKE THE U. OF FLORIDA STUDENT FOR "DISRUPTING A PUBLIC EVENT"? EQUAL JUSTICE, HUH? NOPE

Comment: America is the "Land of the Free"
for some. Make up your own mind by reading
the following two articles, and you'll get the
message: loud and clear, I should think. But
regardless of your beliefs conjured up by
these two articles; always remember, it's
the eye's-of-the-beholder. Nobody sees the
world in the same way. And that's good. It
would be a boring world if everyone thought
exactly the same. Nuff said. Take care, and
best wishes to all.

Tough US welcome for Iran's Ahmadinejad

By NAHAL TOOSI--Associated Press Writer

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took the stage
at Columbia University on Monday to a blistering reception
from the president of the school, who said the hard-line
leader behaved like "a petty and cruel dictator." Continue

America Is No More

By Paul Craig Roberts

Naïve Americans who think they live in a free society
should watch this video filmed by students at a John Kerry
speech September 17, Constitution Day, at the University
of Florida in Gainesville. Continue

Comment: Draw your own conclusion. A very enlightening
article, but whether that's a positive development and
consequence is again: in the eye's-of-the-beholder, as
mentioned above.

The President Of Hypocrisy

Must Watch Video - Keith Olbermann's, Countown
Special Comment

Mr. Bush, you have hidden behind the General’s skirts,
and today you have hidden behind the skirts of ‘the
planted last question’ at a news conference, to indicate
once again that your presidency has been about the tilted
playing field, about no rules for your party in terms of
character assassination and changing the fabric of our
nation, and no right for your opponents or critics to
as much as respond. Video and transcript

Correction and Rewrite
The Era of Global Financial Instability

By Mike Whitney

Correction and Rewrite: Information clearinghouse
regular, Cruxpuppy, pointed out the glaring weaknesses
in yesterday's article. I thought this criticism was fair,
well-argued, principled and accurate. He was right and
I was wrong. I have rewritten the article. Continue

The Police State Is Right Here, Right Now

By Carolyn Baker

The two major parties are like two crime families-the
Genoveses and the Gambinos. They function like players
in a crap game that feign opposition to each other, but
when the chips are down, they will always unite to serve
their common interests. Continue

Comment: Sleep deprivation is used routinely
in torturing prisoners nowadays, but it's not
considered torture by our government. Well, the
following article begs to differ with those who
consider sleep deprivation as safe and effective.
Sleep deprivation can lead to organ failure,
especially in older detainees and those with
diagnosed, or undiagnosed, cases of heart disease.
I suspect if your heart stops, that'll meet the
definition of torture. How many detainees have
met their maker in this manner? Nobody will
ever know, that's for sure.

Saudi Arabia has refused to cut interest rates in

Comment: What country was he talking about

the home front, or is that the Homeland? A
